1. Short version
cvms.uk does not set any cookies.
We do not use web analytics, advertising trackers, social-media plugins,
tag managers, session-replay tools, or any third-party fingerprinting
technology. The small notice that may appear at the bottom of the page
on your first visit is purely informational — there is
nothing to consent to, and dismissing it merely sets a single
strictly-necessary sessionStorage entry that is cleared
when you close the tab.
2. What we mean by "cookies"
A cookie is a small text file placed in your browser's storage area by a
website you visit. Article 173 of the Polish Telecommunications Act and
Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive apply not only to HTTP cookies but
to any technology that stores or accesses information on the user's
terminal equipment — including localStorage,
sessionStorage, IndexedDB, cache APIs, browser
fingerprinting and similar techniques. This notice covers all of them.

Used solely to remember that you dismissed the on-page privacy/cookie notice during the current browser session. Cleared automatically when you close the tab. Holds the literal string "1" only — no identifiers, no tracking. Exempt from consent under Art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and Art. 174 of the Polish Telecommunications Act because it is strictly necessary for the user-requested function of dismissing the notice.

4. If this ever changes
Should we introduce any technology that stores or accesses information on your terminal equipment in the future, we will:
- display a compliant consent banner before any non-essential storage takes place;
- obtain prior, freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent (Art. 4 pt 11 and Art. 7 GDPR);
- provide an equally prominent way to refuse or withdraw consent;
- update this notice and bump its version number above.
